Mike Gavin

“I appreciate the entrepreneurial spirit in the real estate community – the folks who wake up every day and find a way to make things happen. At the core, I truly enjoy helping clients accomplish their dreams to build something that sustains their family – and the families of others as well.”

The enterprising and entrepreneurial nature of commercial real estate work is appealing to Mike, who chose commercial real estate law as a second career. Before entering the legal profession, Mike earned a degree in civil engineering and worked as a program manager for a series of public construction projects, during which he gained an appreciation for the important role played by commercial real estate lawyers in driving deals, financings and developments to the finish line.

Mike’s practice focuses on representing landlords, tenants, buyers, sellers, borrowers, and lenders in all areas of commercial real estate law. A significant part of his work involves drafting and negotiating leases and development documents for retail and office projects across the country. In addition, he helps developers and investment groups with the acquisition, development and sales of real estate, including multi-family complexes. Mike compares his approach to client service to being a golf caddy – he is there to help choose the right clubs and identify the ideal approach that allows the client to then take the best possible swing at the ball and maximize their objectives.
